Beyond Strata has welcomed a new report which describes the benefits of Robotics and Automation, and says technology will continue to alter the ways we do business for decades.
The report, titled ‘The robotics and automation advantage for Queensland’, says the key benefits of automation are improved productivity, the creation of new jobs, and increased economic growth.
What is automation?
The International Society for Automation defines automation as ‘the creation and application of technology to monitor and control the production and delivery of products and services’.
Beyond Strata’s automated processes
According to this broad definition, Beyond Strata is in the business of automation because it has developed new technologies to improve many property management tasks and operations, giving owners greater access to information and control of their property, but also freeing up property managers so they can spend more time doing what they do best – proactively managing properties.
Beyond Strata’s IntelliStrata platform is a key example of the way the company has innovated.
It has developed its own ways to automate property functions and to improve functionality for both owners and property managers alike.
For example, the IntelliStrata’s Community Portal allows owners to see all financial documents, property documents, fund balances, bank statements, copies of all communications, and emergency contact details.
By having greater access to information about their property, owners are better informed, can better manage their investment, and have greater peace of mind.
The same platform also allows Committee members to see even more specific information, such as invoice approvals, detailed expense reports, and a levy arrears list – meaning they have greater clarity about their property.
Beyond Strata also has a Manager Portal, which takes the administrative burden off property managers, allowing them to focus on managing properties.
The Manager Portal allows the property manager to interact with owners, committee members, suppliers and back-office staff at the touch of a button.
Automation and robotics in Australia
Australia’s rate of automation and robotics is fairly low compared to the rest of the world.
In Australia, the rate of robots per thousands is 0.6, compared with 3.47 in South Korea (based on 2015 data), the world leader, and 3,39 in Japan, 2.61 in Germany, and 1.34 in the United States.
This reflects the fairly low levels of manufacturing in Australia, where the benefits of automation and robotics can be dramatic.
A third industrial revolution?
Just as the first industrial revolution of between 1820 and 1840 laid the groundwork for mass production, there was also a second industrial revolution that took place between 1870 and 1940.
During this consequent wave of change, widespread use of technology dramatically improved standards of living.
Electric lights were brought in in light streets and homes, sewerage systems were developed and installed in cities, and antibiotics were invented, saving many millions of lives.
The report notes that some experts say we are in the midst of a third industrial revolution.
And while that point is debatable, there is no doubt that technologies are being developed all the time that improve the quality of our lives.
Beyond Strata is at the forefront of that change in the property sector in Australia, making changes to the way it does business to create efficiencies and develop new services that enhance the customer experience.
